Description

Interested in spending time experiencing the masterpieces in the Accademia Gallery in Florence and then sight-seeing by bicycle to wherever the David Statue is? This is the trip made just for you! You'll spend an hour in Accademia Gallery and then have a nice easy bike ride to all the attractions! Your day starts as you meet your friendly, very knowledgeable guide in the oldest part of town. A short walk through Piazza del Duomo gets you to the cathedral, the Baptistery, Giotto’s Bell Tower, all leading up to your first stop: The Accademia Gallery. How long does a visit to the Accademia Gallery last? Well, an hour will do with a guide, especially when using skip-the-line tickets. During this period of time, you’ll be able to have in sight Michelangelo’s remarkable statue of David and some other unfinished works Prigioni and San Matteo, and masterpieces by Botticelli, Paolo Uccello, and Andrea del Sarto.

Now's a good time for a bike ride!

Biking through Florence is arguably one of the best ways to see the city. It takes much less time than conventional walking tours, freeing travelers to get well off the beaten track. You'll go where buses can't go: along pedestrian precincts and down narrow streets. After the Old Town, you will cycle to the Oltrarno District, from where many fantastic panoramical views open up for you to take in the beauty of the city. This is the Florence bike tour that includes all of the marquee attractions: Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Strozzi, the Duomo, Santa Maria Novella, the artisan's district, Palazzo Vitti, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi Square, Piazza della Signoria, Santa Croce and on it goes. History and interesting facts at various places will be shared by your guide.

Concerning specifically the bike tour, we will do our best to proceed with the bike tour, however, in case of heavy rain, we might decide to stop the bike tour and proceed with a walking tour instead (or just start with a walking tour if the weather does not allow to use the bikes at the time of the meeting point). Should the weather get better during the tour, we will try to get back on board, when possible. Guest options on rainy days: 1) Proceed with the tour hoping for clearing weather - with the understanding that no refund or discount will be given if bikes are not ridden due to rain, or if the bike tour is abbreviated due to rain. We will do our best to get you on a bike, weather permitting. 2) Rain check (of the same amount clients paid) to be used the following day or at any other time, subject to availability. The Rain check is a voucher given to client. The voucher is transferable and may be sold or given to others to use at a future date and lasts up to 1 year from date. It has a value that can be possible used in any other tour provided by our company. Please note that clients' safety and comfort are of utmost priority, and proper rain gear is mandatory for guests choosing to "ride in the possible rain".
