About
Dedicate a day of your Sicilian journey to venture away from the island's capital with this full-day private tour from Palermo, accompanied by a knowledgeable tour guide. The day's agenda includes a visit to the medieval hilltop town of Erice, a traditional Sicilian lunch, a wine tasting experience, and a scenic tour along the Salt Route of Marsala! As the capital of Sicily, Palermo stands out as one of the most dynamic and lively cities throughout Italy.
After a few days, you may find yourself wanting to escape the hustle and bustle! The ideal way to do this is with a full-day private tour from Palermo that takes you to the enchanting town of Erice and allows you to appreciate the stunning views of Marsala. You will set off from Palermo in a high-quality minivan accompanied by a knowledgeable driver and tour guide. Your first destination will be the medieval village perched on a hill, Erice. As you wander through the narrow streets, you’ll discover charming little courtyards. Keep an eye out for the viewpoints offering breathtaking sights of the Egadi Islands and the city of Trapani. You’ll feel as if you’re journeying through time, enveloped in a timeless beauty. Naturally, while in Sicily, it’s always the perfect moment for a snack, and in Erice, we will enjoy a delicious break with a local Sicilian granita.
There’s no need for concern, as this won't be the sole delightful experience of the day. The next stop on the day trip offers an opportunity to indulge in a traditional Sicilian lunch paired with a tasting of local wines. During this meal, you’ll also have the chance to enjoy the distinctive flavor of olive oil, a product for which this region is renowned.
After departing from Erice, the journey continues along Sicily's western coast toward Marsala, a town celebrated for its sweet wine and the intriguing salt mills road known as the Saline. As you traverse this enchanting landscape, take in the sight of salt windmills and basins that are still operational today. This 30km stretch is one of Italy's most picturesque routes, and stepping out of your vehicle will allow you to experience the salt-laden air! Following this extraordinary and memorable adventure, you will head back to Palermo.
